Although not as fast as some of its competitors, the Blackwater does demonstrate an excellent turning ability. The fantastic stability of the Blackwater makes it ideal for beginners or anyone who wants a go-almost-anywhere kayak. Suitable for white water up to level two, but many users are happy to take it through rougher water, it’s extraordinary stability making up for its length. The Blackwater is perfectly at home in the surf and its’ storage is adequate for most fishing trips.
An ideal kayak for the taller enthusiast, the Blackwater boasts a light weight hull, aiding the manoeuvrability and travelling upstream. A drop down, spring loaded skeg provides better tracking on the flat. Not as suitable for lots of flat water, but it handles so well that you will happily tolerate its’ lack of speed.
Available in 10.5 and 12 ft mono and a 13.5 ft tandem, the tandem is excellent for families with a detachable child seat. Its other s features include ergonomic handles for ease of carrying, adjustable backrest, comfortable seat and thermo-moulded padding. The Blackwater is available in a variety of colours, red, orange, yellow, blue, sky and flame.
The Dagger Blackwater is available from AS Watersports as a part of a package deal, the boat, a touring paddle and bouyancy aid.
